The American Red Cross and South Beach Regional Fire Authority have partnered in an effort to supply smoke detectors to families who cannot afford them.
According to the National Fire Protection Association, three of every five home fire deaths resulted from fires in homes with no smoke alarms.
If you need a smoke detector, and cannot afford one, simply contact South Beach Regional Fire Authority and schedule an appointment.
